Norm's early efforts to revitalize Winifred had an immediate impact, but without industry the town's future remained uncertain. Winifred needed a reason for people to stick around, and that meant jobs.

Norm purchased Mid-State Signs, originally founded in Lewistown, and moved it to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Winifred in 2009. He invested in machinery to produce the latest in sign technology and hired more than a half dozen employees to provide wholesale services to customers in Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and the Dakotas.

For those passing through Winifred, Norm built the Winifred International Suites. The hotel features seven internationally themed rooms, a European-style hostel, a four-lane bowling alley and a steakhouse.
