Lab Pump Monitoring System

Specifications

For a successful design the following fundamental requirements must be achieved while considerable effort should be given to obtaining the secondary requirements.

            Fundamental Requirements

Measure and catalog current draw of the roughing pump.

Measure and catalog temperature of the roughing pump.

Measure and catalog oil level of the roughing pump.

Monitoring with a minimum sampling rate of 1sample/min.

                         Design Budget $500.

                         Unit Budget $200.

Efficiently designed for 1-12 roughing pumps

            Secondary Requirements

Measure and catalog vibrations from the roughing pump.

Measure and catalog sound from the roughing pump.

Takes up minimal lab space and is aesthetically pleasing.

Notify to user by email/text message/automated if pump parameters go outside the known region of operation.

If no user response to notification after 1hr pump will power down.

Ability for users to remotely power down the pump.

Notify the user if the pump parameters go outside the known region of operation.
