Freescale Cup

Mission Statement

Create a wireless link that will transmit the camera data while a car is running. Make the project easy to hook-up to any student car. This will allow the user to see what the camera is seeing while the car is running for instances when the car loses the black line. The data is to be displayed on an Android app.

This project is a modular device that can easily be attached to the Freescale Cup Race Car used in EELE 101, and stream video from the car’s camera to an Android device. The purpose of the camera is to allow the car to follow a black line. A major problem students have raised is that they have no feedback as to where the camera is pointing so making the car follow the black line is sometimes difficult. As of right now, the EELE 101 students rely heavily on guessing what the camera sees, which can be time consuming. Our project will be able to connect to the pre-existing Freescale Cup Race Car easily and wirelessly stream video data to a student's Android device, which in turn will save them time and frustration.
