Introduction

This project, sponsored by Dr. James Becker, tasks the design team with creating a solar powered “scarecrow” which will be able to scare birds and small animals away from a designated radius. An emphasis is to be placed on the affordability of the final product, along with the reliability of the unit after placement. From our budget, which is detailed in the problem definition, the design team is allowed some flexibility on the final design, possibly with the utilization of multiple demo units using different approaches to solving the design problem. This allows for better testing in hopes of designing the most effective final product.
