Career Fair

The Career Fair, held each year in October and February and organized by MSU's Career, Internship & Student Employment Services, is the premier opportunity for finding an internship or job. Typically more than 200 employers attend the October fair and around 170 attend the February fair. Employers seeking engineering students are well represented.

Career, Internship & Student Employment Services hosts several events that can help students prepare for the Career Fair, including resume critique sessions. Keep an eye on the MSU events calendar and the events page at MSU Career Services to learn about these opportunities.

Career, Internship & Student Employment Services

Besides organizing the Career Fair, the Career, Internship & Student Employment Services at the Allen Yarnell Center for Student Success offers ongoing support for students seeking internship and employment opportunities, including career coaching and resume assistance. Hire-A-Bobcat is the main resource for MSU students to connect with employers both on and off campus.

Research Jobs

Especially for students interested in pursuing advanced degrees, working as a research assistant or in another position with MSU engineering faculty is an excellent way to gain research experience while having a paid job. Many MSU researchers hire students through Hire-A-Bobcat. Some students find employment by identifying research projects that interest them and contacting those faculty members directly. See the departments' "Research" pages for listings of faculty and their research interests.
