The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation recently donated a significant challenge gift to seed a new Construction Engineering Technology Chair in the Civil Engineering Department. The CET Chair campaign is a $2.5 million initiative.
The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has given the gift to encourage others, companies and individuals, to support the growing CET program.
The COE has already greatly benefited from the Washington Foundation challenge. In response to the challenge, one corporate sponsor and ten individuals have contributed matching gifts. In addition, Joel T. Long established a Professorship of Civil Engineering with a $1 million gift in response to the Washington Foundation challenge.
