Background
Todd J. Kaiser received a BS in physics from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana in 1981, an MS in physics from Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon in 1984 and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia in 2000. From 1985 to 1994 he was a Staff Physicist at the C. S. Draper Laboratory where he worked on optical instruments and sensors, including fiber optic and ring laser gyroscopes. He left Draper Laboratory to pursue interests in micromechanical inertial sensors at the start-up company Milli Sensor Systems and Actuators, Inc., where he was a program manager for the successful demonstration of a unique design accelerometer from 1994-2000. Dr. Kaiser joined the MSU electrical engineering department in the fall of 2000 as an adjunct professor and accepted an assistant professor position in the fall of 2001. His current research interests include microfabrication technology, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and microsensors.
