Course Description (as described in the MSU Bulletin):
Architecture and applications of parallel processors, major design issues, fault tolerant computing, performance measures of parallel systems, and issues in concurrent programming.

Course Description (as it will most likely unfold in this course instantiation):
Parallel processing is a topic with growing interest due to multiple core processors showing up from many vendors.  This course will focus on software and hardware issues in parallel processing.
