As the use of electrical and electronic devices and systems continues to increase, the job opportunities for
Electrical Engineers continue to expand. Did you know that the cost of the electronic and electric devices
in a modern car is more than the cost of the steel used in its manufacturing? A modern car has more than
thirty electric drives; in a household it is not unusual to find more than 50 electric motors, most of them
controlled by microprocessors. New exciting fields for professional practice continue to appear in such fields
as Bio-engineering, Opto-electronics and Micro machines. MSU Electrical Engineers work throughout the
United States and the world. Some of our employers include: Battelle Northwest, Boeing, Bonneville
Power Administration, Lockheed INEL, Micron Technologies, US west, QualComm Extended
Systems, Hewlett Packard, ILX Lightwave, 3M, The Montana Power Company, MSE, Pacific Gas &
Electric, SSR Engineering, Tetragenics, Tektronix, Texas Instruments, VLC Technologies, AMI Gould,
to name a few. Starting salaries for our recent graduates are in the
range of $45,000 to over $55,000.
