Engineering Advisory Council

Purpose
MSU's Engineering Advisory
Council (EAC) provides an industry perspective to the
College in its strategic planning with a goal of
improving the quality of the academic and research
programs; enhancing the effectiveness of its graduates;
encouraging life-long learning and assisting in the
mobilization of new financial resources to support the
development of innovative programs of excellence.
Specifically, EAC will be
responsible for evaluating the mission and goals of the
College; assisting in the development and implementation
of the College's strategic plan; helping to expand
multi-disciplinary and teamwork initiatives; advising on
the relevance of curriculum requirements and course
offerings from the standpoint of technology, current
industrial needs, general employment and future trends.
Secondly, EAC will provide
input on new and evolving strategic objectives; assist
in developing corporate relations to foster greater
opportunities for COE students and programs, both before
and after graduation.
Thirdly, EAC will help
promote the programs and graduates of the College;
assist the Dean and Development Officer in the
identification and acquisition of new avenues and
sources of financial support.

Responsibilities
EAC Members are invited to
serve three year terms. Meetings are held once during
the academic year. Members are expected to attend and
actively participate in the initiatives undertaken by
EAC.
Members will help support the
mission and goals of the College by assisting in the
development of new contacts and sources of support for
the College.
