Engineering Advisory Council

Purpose

MSU's Engineering Advisory Council (EAC) provides an industry perspective to the College in its strategic planning with a goal of improving the quality of the academic and research programs; enhancing the effectiveness of its graduates; encouraging life-long learning and assisting in the mobilization of new financial resources to support the development of innovative programs of excellence.

Specifically, EAC will be responsible for evaluating the mission and goals of the College; assisting in the development and implementation of the College's strategic plan; helping to expand multi-disciplinary and teamwork initiatives; advising on the relevance of curriculum requirements and course offerings from the standpoint of technology, current industrial needs, general employment and future trends.

Secondly, EAC will provide input on new and evolving strategic objectives; assist in developing corporate relations to foster greater opportunities for COE students and programs, both before and after graduation.

Thirdly, EAC will help promote the programs and graduates of the College; assist the Dean and Development Officer in the identification and acquisition of new avenues and sources of financial support.

Benefits to EAC Members

  • You have the opportunity and personal satisfaction of helping to provide a superlative engineering education to future generations of MSU students.

Responsibilities

EAC Members are invited to serve three year terms. Meetings are held once during the academic year. Members are expected to attend and actively participate in the initiatives undertaken by EAC.
