Spring Semester - ENGR 200 Seminar

This course is a service-learning course.

Service learning can be defined: "as a credit-bearing educational experience in which students participate in an organized service activity that meets identified community needs and reflect on the service activity in such a way as to gain further understanding of the course content, a broader appreciation of the discipline, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility." Hatcher, J.A., & Bringle, R.G. (1997), Reflection: Bridging the gap between service and learning, College Teaching, 45 (4) 153-158..

Service-learning projects will change for each Spring Semester. DOC students will work in interdisciplinary teams and with freshman through senior students.

Sponsored by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation - Engineering Schools of the West Initiative
