Continuing Students should follow detailed instructions to Add a Course provided by the Office of the Registrar.

For Students Seeking Support to: 

Add Request after the 5th day of classes

  1. Emailing the instructor (separate emails if more than one course) requesting approval to add their course.  Student should request instructor use the following language if they give permission for the student to add their course:
    1. "I (instructor's name) give (student's name) permission to add (insert course subject & number)."
  2. If approval to add the course is given, student will forward email stream to their academic advisor with the following details:
    1. Request for advisor support to add course after the 5th day of classes.
    2. An explanation regarding how student plans to capture the content missed since the 1st day of class.
    3. Student should request advisor use the following language if permission is given:
      1. "With the approval of course instructor, I (academic advisor's name) support (student name)'s request to add (insert course subject & number)."
  3. Once both approvals are received, student should complete the online Add Request Form on the Office of the Registrar's website. Email approvals from instructor and advisor will be provided at this time.

    2. Evidence of extraordinary circumstances that prevented registering and attending classes from the beginning of the term.
    3. Explanation regarding how student plans to capture the content missed since the 1st day of class.
      1. Evidence of support from instructor is beneficial to student's request.
    4. Student should request advisor use the following language if permission is given:
      1. "With the approval of course instructor, I (academic advisor's name) support (student name)'s request to add (insert course subject & number)."
  3. Student must contact the NACOE Dean's Office and schedule a time to meet/talk with Jennifer Clark who serves as the Assistant/Associate Dean in this situation. 
    1. Request for support to add course after the 10th day of classes.
    2. Evidence of extraordinary circumstances that prevented registering and attending classes from the beginning of the term.
    3. Explaination regarding how student plans to capture the content missed since the 1st day of class.
      1. Evidence of support from instructor is beneficial to student's request.
    4. If support is given an email will be sent to the student and the academic advisor copied.
  4. Once all approvals are received, student should complete the online Add Request Form on the Office of the Registrar's website. Email approvals from instructor, advisor, and NACOE Asst/Assoc Dean provided at this time.
